PEMF delivers low-frequency electromagnetic pulses into the body. Your cells communicate electrically, and PEMF works with that signalling — supporting circulation, easing inflammatory response, and helping shift your nervous system out of sympathetic (fight-or-flight) activation and into parasympathetic rest.
Every session runs through our solid-state PEMF system, with strength, pulses-per-second and magnetic field tuned to what your body needs that day. Sessions run 45–60 minutes, fully clothed, no needles.
Your first session is guided — we talk through the whole thing together, and you're in full control of the machine throughout. After that, every session is different: some people like to talk, others just want to rest into the pulse.
How PEMF works in detailPEMF isn't new. Pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation has been studied in clinical settings since the 1970s, and the evidence base keeps growing. Here's a selection of it — with links, so you can read the studies for yourself.
A double-blind, placebo-controlled randomised trial reported a significant reduction in pain scores over one month compared with placebo.
Bagnato GL, et al. Rheumatology, 2016. View study →A systematic review and meta-analysis of 14 randomised trials found PEMF relieved pain intensity and improved physical function.
Sun X, et al. Clinical Rehabilitation, 2022. View study →A meta-analysis of randomised trials found moderate-quality evidence that PEMF increased healing rate and relieved fracture pain.
Peng L, et al. Bioelectromagnetics, 2020. View study →Pooled results from four randomised trials showed better short-term pain scores and improved function, both short and long term.
Wang H-Y, et al. PLoS One, 2025. View study →A randomised, double-blind, sham-controlled study reported improvements in function, pain, fatigue and global status.
Sutbeyaz ST, et al. Clinical Journal of Pain, 2009. View study →In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 101 patients, most of the treatment group reported substantial or complete relief of their symptoms.
Pelka RB, et al. Advances in Therapy, 2001. View study →These studies relate to the specific devices, frequencies and protocols used by their researchers, which vary from one study to the next. PEMF supports your body's own processes — it isn't a cure, and it doesn't replace medical care.

Pain that's become background noise, including conditions like arthritis. PEMF supports circulation and your body's natural repair response, easing your nervous system's pain-signalling loop.

Wired but tired, mind racing at 11pm. Sessions are built to shift you out of fight-or-flight and into genuine rest.

Falling asleep fine but waking up wired, or not sleeping deeply at all — a regulated nervous system is often the missing piece.

For athletes and biohackers: supports faster recovery between sessions and better sleep quality, without added load on your body.

When your body's alarm system won't turn off and your energy never quite comes back. PEMF supports your body's own anti-inflammatory signalling and cellular energy production.

You don't have to wait until you've pushed too hard or run yourself into the ground. Regular sessions help keep your nervous system regulated, so your body can keep up with the pace you're setting it.
Becky is absolutely delightful, she not only listened, but heard me 🙏. I highly recommend this treatment. After one month of acute pain with no answers from doctors other than here's another medication, Becky's treatment provided me with a great deal of relief. Thank you.
I booked in with Becky for a PEMF treatment to work on a tendonitis issue I have had ongoing for over 6 months in my bicep tendon. After just one treatment my pain was significantly reduced and I was able to surf pain free all week. Looking forward to a few more treatments to help the healing process along further!
So happy Becky has brought the Nu Wave PEMF machine to the Sunshine Coast to assist healing our bodies in a natural way. We are beyond blessed 🙏🙏
Nu Wave also runs yoga & pilates classes and Zen Thai Shiatsu massage — explore our other offerings, including private couples and retreat bookings.
